How we operate
A summary of the key provisions of the OUISoc constitution.
Name and Purpose
The society is known as the Oxford University Islamic Society (OUISoc). Its purpose is to serve Muslim students at Oxford University by providing spiritual, welfare, social, and educational support.
Membership
Membership is open to all Oxford University students. The society welcomes students of all backgrounds — Muslim and non-Muslim alike — though voting rights at General Meetings are reserved for Muslim members.
Committee Structure
The society is governed by an elected committee including President, Vice President, Welfare Officers, Events Officer, Outreach Officer, Tech & Comms Officer, and Spiritual & Education Officer.
Elections
Committee elections are held annually by secret ballot. All Muslim student members in good standing are eligible to vote. The outgoing committee oversees the election process.
General Meetings
